BULLETIN OUTLINE 10.4.15
“The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’ And whether they listen or fail to listen—for they are a rebellious house—they will know that a prophet has been among them.” Ezekiel 2:4-5
#1. The story of Ezekiel calls us to face the reality of our accountability to be God’s spokespeople.
“You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen.” Ezekiel 2:7
“Go and make disciples of every nation baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28
#2. The story of Ezekiel calls us to recover our sense of a radical dependence upon the Holy Spirit as we speak up.
“He said to me, ‘Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.’ As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.” Ezekiel 2:1-2
